Andrea started working for LGR at the age of 14 and has worked in a range of departments.

From a young age, Andrea was very musical. She grew up to the contemporary sounds of Natassa Theodoridou, Kaiti Garbi and Notis Sfakianakis as well as spending a lot of time with her grandparents listening to the likes of Mariw, Stelios Kazantzidis and Giorgos Dalaras. And so her first show on LGR was ‘Young & Connected’ on weekday nights from 8-10pm playing the latest pop and modern laika. She was later given the opportunity to start her own show from scratch, ‘Laiki Vradia’, choosing to play the older laika and rembetika. She continues to specialise in these older genres.

As frequent visitor to the bouzoukia and concerts in Athens, Andrea has seen pretty much everyone live: from the legends that are Dimitris Mitropanos, Paschalis Terzis, Vasilis Karras, Natassa Theodoridou, Giorgos Dalaras, Glykeria, Haroulla Lambraki, Dimitris Tsaousakis and Giannis Parios… to the more contemporary sounds of Peggy Zina, Antonis Remos, Notis Sfakianakis, Giorgos Mazonakis, Paola, Kostantinos Argyros, Despina Vandi, Pantelis Pantelides, Panos Kiamos, and Sakis Rouvas.

Andrea continues to get involved within the community wherever she can, as well as juggling her career as a lawyer. She has taught at local Greek Schools, written articles for the local Greek newspapers, volunteered at local churches and been a member of NEPOMAK.uk.

Chris Theoharous known as DJ Chris has been in the entertainment business for over 20 years and has been offering his DJ services for a variety of events including Weddings, Baptisms, Corporate, Private Parties and Clubs.

Chris began his career providing DJ services to London nightclubs and expanded to DJ in various clubs across the world including France, Italy, Greece and Cyprus. As his career progressed he decided to offer services for Corporate and Private Events diversifying his musical style, his skill allowing for entertaining combinations to suit any event.

Now as a natural progression to London Greek Radio where you can hear Chris live on Mondays and Thursdays 10pm – Midnight

Ta Tragoudia Tis Psihis has been a long-running radio show, every Sunday evening between 7:30-10pm. The soulful tunes encompass entehno, ballads, elafrolaiko, and atmospheric music which generate a feeling, of good championship and ‘good wine’ under a full-lit moon. It’s like an old-picture, which brings nostalgic moments, reflecting our most quiet internal and solitary moments. The listeners are taken on a voyage, through the music and lyrics of the songs.

One of the foremost established DJs and radio presenters, who had run various music shows, children’s slots, also reviewing books and films. Fani has been a member of the LGR team since 1991. She was born in Limnos and music has always been a very big part of her life.

Consistently active in the performing arts from an early age, Kat has always harboured a love of entertaining especially through the act of song. Citing influences from the Empress of Soul Etta James to the poetic Jill Scott, her taste for soulful tones and jazzy grooves creep into her own music. Singing from the age of seven, music and song-writing has always provided a vehicle for repressed frustrations, elevating joy and all those things in between.

Brought up on eclectic styles of music, it isn’t the genre that matters, but the emotion that reaches beyond the music. During Kats musical career she has also looked to her Cypriot roots for inspiration and has become well known in her community as an artist; Winning 1st place at the New Talent contest organized in conjunction with the Cyprus Wine Festival at Alexander Palace in 2001.

A graduate of the highly coveted Commercial Music degree at The University of Westminster Kat won a 2 year scholarship with the Westminster Voices Gospel Choir; recording with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Previous musical projects include both Greek and English collaborations, working with Crocodile Music Records as a lyricist and performer on “The Embrace” – the enigmatic theme song from the BBC2 TV series: Rick Stein Mediterranean Escapes. Kat has additionally featured as a vocalist on the CD release “The Cypriot Collection” for the track Chakara Makara, produced by Harry K.

In 2009 Kats self-penned composition “I Believe” was selected as one of the 10 finalists to compete in the televised Eurovision National Final for Cyprus, several successful club remixes of the track soon followed, including one by renowned producer Tim Allan of the Hong Kong Blondes.

Kats love of performing live has seen her grace the stage of many festivals and major events including appearing at the HMV Forum for a musical tribute to two Greek greats; singers Stelios Kazantzidis and Grigoris Bithikotsis alongside Dimitris Mpasis.

When not on-stage and performing, Katerina presents her own DJ show ‘Scandalous’ live on LGR 103.3fm; jam-packed with all the latest Modern Greek hits, music exclusives, celebrity gossip, chart news and listeners’ special requests & dedications!

Kat also writes the weekly Music Column ‘EXCLUSIVE’ for Cypriot newspaper The Parikiaki, published every Thursday.

Mihalis Germanos is a journalist specialising in radio production, digital media and communications. He was born in Athens and lives in London.

His first show on London Greek Radio was broadcast in June 1994. He has been part of the LGR crew for over two decades and has been on air for over 7.000 hours.

His show ZitoTo EllinikoTragoudi, one of the longest running shows in the station’s history, is broadcast every Sunday from 17:00 to 19:00.

On his shows, Mihalis regularly hosts interviews with some of the most prominent greek artists in Greece and Cyprus. He also regularly presents features on classic and contemporary greek composers, lyricists and poets.

As part of his work at London Greek Radio, Mihalis has also presented Ena Filaraki Mesa Sti Nihta and Paraxenos Kosmos. Both shows stayed on air for almost 20 years.

Parallel to his radio work, Mihalis is an established digital communications professional in the fields of web development and design, content management, event promotions and media campaigns.

Mihalis also has a keen interest in human rights, the environment, animal welfare and helping vulnerable people.

Pierre originates from London, born to Greek-Cypriot parents and has worked in radio for over 15 years, mainly as a presenter and DJ, but also as a Broadcast Journalist, often presenting LGR’s “London Today” news programme at Breakfast.

His background has involved retail management and a little support acting, but he has spent most of his working life as a strategic lead for media, marketing and communication issues for the public sector.

Pierre is also part of LGR’s expanding sales team, as well as a songwriter, therapist, philosopher and psychologist.

His weekly Thursday lunchtime show brings “the sound of the Mediterranean” to you “from the top of the LGR Tower”, and is fast becoming one of the most enjoyable and fascinating programmes on radio.
From Demis to Dionysiou, Kazantzidis to Kostas, Nana to Notis and Leandros to Glykeria, you might also find Cat Stevens, George Michael, Tony Orlando, Modern Romance and B*Witched lurking on the airwaves from time to time!

Soulla Violari one of LGR’s long standing and much loved D.j’s was born in Greece and from a young age was involved in the music scene, theatre, dancing, and beauty contests and also starred in television adverts. She began presenting at LGR in 1985 when it was only a small local station. In 1989 she began a morning programme and for 10 years produced and presented the ‘Good morning London Programme’, which includes news, music, reviews, surveys, weather forecast, horoscopes, dedications and live links with experts on topical issues. She still presents the programme weekly on Saturday and Sunday from 7am – 10 am, Soulla also presents a music show on Mondays from 10-12pm.
All the music that Soulla plays on the airwaves is chosen from her personal collection that she updates with the latest releases and consists of 6,000 records and CD’s.
Soulla continuously tries to promote and contribute to the work of charitable establishments and development of the community and society. She achieves this through the LGR programme and the promotion of charity events, relevant topics and radio marathons. Furthermore Soulla dedicates her personal time and visits schools, hospitals and charitable institutions and activities.
